Online school platform

Experts and online schools that have outgrown course builders

The problem

What usually hurts

If nothing on this list sounds like you, you probably don’t need this product — and we’ll say so.

  • The school has outgrown its course builder but has nowhere to move — every option is the same rented account.
  • Students learn on their phones, but the platform is built for desktop.
  • Learning is in one service, the chat with the tutor in a second, homework in a third.
  • It is unclear whether students get results: you can see lessons completed, but not what changes in their business.
  • The school’s brand lives inside someone else’s product — and stops at that product’s logo.

What’s inside

Programmes and cohorts

Learning is organised as a cohort with dates and stages, not a folder of videos. You can see where the group is and who has fallen behind — before a student drops out.

Lessons and homework

Materials, assignments and marking in one place. Students do not have to piece their progress back together from messenger threads.

Tutors in cohort chats

Support is built into the learning: the tutor sees which stage a student is at and steps in where they are stuck. Timely feedback is what most often determines completion rates.

Students’ business metrics

A dashboard with the figures from the student’s business, not just the percentage of lessons completed. The school starts being measured by the result students came to it for.

Your own app

The school’s app in the App Store and Google Play under its own name and branding. Students install the school’s app, not the app of the service the school rents an account from.

Origin

Born from a live project

Our model is pilot first, product second: we build a system for an operating business, take it through to everyday use, and only then turn it into a product.

The platform is growing out of a pilot project — a mobile online school for entrepreneurs. On it we are going through the full cycle: strategy and positioning, a sales website, release planning and app development. In other words, the product is being built from a working school, not from assumptions about how schools work.

We’ll name the pilot client once we have their written consent. We’ll share details and a demo at a meeting.

Where this problem came from

Online schools keep running into the same thing: learning lives in one service, communication with tutors in a second, reporting in a third, and the student’s results are not measured at all. Meanwhile the student is almost always on a phone, while the platform is built for a computer.

We are building an environment where these parts are connected and the school stops being a tenant in someone else’s product.

What the platform does not do

It does not write your curriculum for you or replace your instructional designer. It does not handle advertising or student recruitment — that is a separate profession, and not one we sell. It does not promise completion rates: completion comes from the methodology and the tutors’ work; the platform simply lets you see where a student is stuck while it can still be fixed.

in development

In development, with a pilot client project under way. There is no public pricing or open sign-up yet: while the pilot runs, we take on a limited number of schools so that each one gets the team’s attention.

Questions

What people ask about Online school platform

How is this different from a course builder?

A course builder gives you an account inside its own product: someone else’s domain, someone else’s app, someone else’s limits. Here the school has its own mobile app and its own environment. The flip side, honestly: this is not a service you switch on in an evening, but a project with an implementation phase.

We are a small school. Is it too early for us?

Most likely, yes — and we will tell you so directly. While cohorts are small and everything fits into a course builder, a separate platform will not pay for itself. It starts to make sense when the school hits the limits of the service, or when the student’s mobile experience becomes decisive.

Who publishes the app to the stores?

It is published under the school’s account — the app and the developer account belong to you. We help you get through review and set up the release process, but we do not become the owner of your presence in the stores.

What about course content?

The methodology and materials are yours; we do not write them. Our part is the environment they work in, and the figures that show whether they work.
